Add or delete a tab Add prices to the screen How to customise your screen Moving widgets in a tab Create a custom table of prices - My Prices Using the Instrument Catalogue

Add or delete a tab

Mydesk is organised across a series of tabs, which you can configure and customize yourself. You can also create new tabs to your own specifications.

To select a tab simply click on it. The content you have selected to display on that tab will be displayed.

To add a tab, click on the + icon at the end of the tabs. You will also see the hover over text ‘create a new tab’’.

When you click on the + icon, you are offered options to set up your new tab, including naming the tab and selecting the format of the new screen eg free format, 3 columns.

Type in the new name of your tab then click the green plus icon. You can then click on your new tab and add data and prices from the Content Finder.

To delete a tab, double click on the tab, then click on the minus icon.

You will then need to confirm that you would like to permanently delete the tab.

Add prices to the screen

Search for prices, stocks or data sets to add to your screen via the Content Finder.

The Content Finder menu is found on the left hand margin of the screen. Open the Content Finder (found on the left hand margin of your screen) by clicking on the black tab labelled “Content Finder”

From the Content Finder, select the data and prices you want to add and view in your tab. Click on the data set, eg LME Data, and it will open a tree based menu to allow you to navigate to the relevant content set, eg LME Copper forwards.

From the Content Finder you can search for any data sets you require, eg LME Officials or LME Closing Prices etc.

If you do not have access to live prices and would like to view them, please contact your account manager.

How to customise your screen

Each screen contains many widgets, for any widget in a tab, you can customize these to your exact requirements.

To edit any widget, click on the cog icon in the top right hand corner of any widget.

Clicking on the cog icon will take you to the menu options for customising the widget, adding or removing any fields and adding, removing any instruments from the instrument catalogue or changing the style of the widget (fonts, font size and colours)

The arrow icon will refresh any data in the widget.

The minimise icon will show the widget as a header line but hides the full widget on your screen.

Click the minimise icon to hide the widget, this icon then changes to a open this widget icon and it will show the full widget

You also have the ability to remove widgets permanently out of your tab.

Moving widgets in a tab

Widgets can be easily moved to other columns on the screen. They can be added between other widgets or at the top or bottom of any column. To do this, simply click on the header of the widget and keep your mouse button pressed.

Move your mouse to the column you want to move the part to. As you move over parts in that column, you will see an orange dashed box will appear as a space for you to drop the moving widget into. Release the mouse button and drop the widget into the space provided.

Create a custom table of prices - My Prices

You can create your own table of prices, where you decide which instruments to display, the order they are displayed I and the fields that are displayed.

When you create your own My Prices widget with all the contracts you are most interested in, the My Price widgets are saved and accessed from the Content Finder. Just like any other content widgets, they have the same icons to add them to columns on your tabs or open them as widgets

There are 4 steps required to create a My Price widget.

You will find your new My Prices widget in the Content Finder, where you can add it to your own tabs.

Should you want to edit your new My Prices widget, click on the cog settings menu to access the Instrument Catalogue to find other instruments. You can also select Customize Fields to add, remove or re-order the price fields.

Once you have set up a My Prices part, this will also be available in the Mobile web app.

Using the Instrument Catalogue

The Instrument Catalogue is the menu you can interact with when selecting new instruments in an existing widget through the cog icon, when setting up My Prices widgets as per above, or when selecting an instrument in a 5* Chart or the Historic Data widget. Searching can be carried out by navigating the menu or typing a key word.

This menu surfaces two different options for expiring futures when viewing an instrument. For example, in searching for Comex Copper in the Instrument Catalogue, you will see Comex, Copper and also Copper Rolling.

MyDesk offers both fixed month contracts (June 25, July 25, August 25) as well as the rolling contracts (M1, M2, M3). All the standard widgets in MyDesk roll automatically, but the rolling contracts allow the option to specifically view the fixed month which would expire on the expiry date (eg Comex Copper Aug expires 27 Aug 25), or a rolling contract, which would simply roll on the expiry date.
