Alerts - MyDesk
In the Content Finder menu, go to Customisation Tools and select My Alerts. Select the arrow to open the menu.

Set the alert type – you can choose to select an alert on a news keyword, a periodic price or a price trigger. Then select the Next button. Note that once you have set up an alert, you would come back to this menu to change or delete your alerts.

Next screen allows you to select the instruments you would like to set the alert for. This is the Instrument Catalogue menu where you can type a key word or drill down through the menu. In this alert example we will select a price trigger for LME Copper 3M.

Select how you want the notification to be triggered. You can select the field you want to monitor (eg Bid), whether the alert is above, below or equal to a particular price. In this step you decide on whether you want to receive an alert via email or as a pop up in your screen. Should you select email, you will need to enter the email address to send the alert to. This should only be the email address for the user who has the MyDesk product.
There is an option to add an email subject and optional notes. Then click Create Alert.
The alert will now be running in the background waiting to be triggered. Should you want to edit or delete the alert, go back to the Content Finder and back into My Alerts and from the first step, you can edit alerts.

You must select at least one “Subscription Sector” from the top group of the menu e.g. “Base Metals News”. Selections made inside a group are “Or” conditions. In other words, if “Base Metals News” and “Precious Metals News” are both selected, then any news article of either type will be included in the alert.
However, selections across “Filter Groups” are “And” conditions. For instance, if “Base Metals News” is selected along with “Copper”, then only articles which are tagged as being both “Base Metals News” and “Copper” will be permitted by the filter and be alerted.
News articles (which includes Research if permissioned) are alerted on publication.
To edit an alert you have created, go back to MyAlerts and go into Change My Alerts.
