Saved Mill Groups: compare multiple specific mills

Saved Mill Groups allow users to combine any selection of mills into a single group for easier analysis. These groups can be used in multiple ways. For example, you may create a Saved Mill Group to analyze several mills for an acquisition assessment. Their primary purpose is to highlight a specific set of mills or machines in a custom market report. Highlighting applies a distinct visual style to a company or mill group so that the selected mills stand out in charts and data tables. For details on highlighting, refer to “How to highlight and label mills or companies” in the Fastmarkets Support section.

Saved Mill Groups can also be used as custom markets. Once created, any market report can be run directly on a Saved Mill Group. To do this, navigate to the Saved Mill Groups screen and select View from the action menu of the desired group.

You may also share Saved Mill Groups with other users in your organization. Select Share from the action menu to make a group available to colleagues. Note that Saved Mill Groups created by other subscribers cannot be edited or deleted.

Additionally, you can create new groups by duplicating an existing one from the Saved Mill Groups page.

Creating and Defining Saved Mill Groups

Saved Mill Groups are created from the Mills section.

  1. Go to Mills, then type and select the company or mill name in the search field.
  2. Click Add to Saved Mill Groups.
  3. To create a new group, check New Mill Group, enter a group name, and click Save.

4. To add mills to an existing group, check Existing Mill Group, then choose the appropriate group name.

To view a Saved Mill Group, go to Custom Markets and select Saved Mill Groups from the dropdown. Alternatively, you can open a specific mill group for cost comparison using the list on the right-hand side. If you have more than five groups, select View All to see the full list.

Note: There is no limit to the number of mills you can add to a market.
