How can I compare the cost/view trends over a longer period of time?

Trend Analysis — Market and Mill Level

At both the Market and Mill levels, users can view and analyze historical cash cost data over a selected time period, beginning from Q1 2013.

How to Access Trend Analysis

  1. Open either the Market Cash Cost report or the Mill Costs report.
  2. Click on Trends.
  3. Select the FROM DATE and TO DATE.
  4. Click View Trend.

The Trend report displays the major cash cost categories:

  • Fiber
  • Chemicals
  • Energy
  • Labor
  • Maintenance

What You Can Do in Trend View

  • Visualize trends in both chart and table formats.
  • Export data to Excel for further analysis.
    • Exported data includes detailed quarterly cash cost values and a market-level summary.
    • Note: Because exports may include large datasets, the file will be emailed to you once it is ready.
  • Apply all existing filters and conversions, such as:
    • Unit conversions
    • Delivery cost adjustments
    • Fiber breakout options
  • Export regional unit cost trends for more detailed regional analysis.

Important Notes

No need to modify the Balance Date when using the Trend option.
The system automatically applies the correct balance date for each historical quarter.

Regional Unit Cost Trends

  • These can also be viewed and exported directly from the Trend tab.
  • This includes the Market Regional Unit Cost Export Trend option.
