How can I compare the cost/view trends over a longer period of time?

On the Market level and on the Mill level, there is a feature to view and analyse historical market level cash cost data over a selected time period, starting from Q1 2013.

To do so:

  • Once on the market Cash Cost or the mill Costs report, click on Trends
  • Select the FROM DATE and TO DATE
  • Click on View Trend

The report will show the major cash cost categories (fiber, chemicals, energy, labor and maintenance).

With this feature, you can:

  • Visualize trends in chart and table
  • Export data to Excel for further analysis
    • Exported data includes the detailed cash cost for each quarter and market level summary page as shown on the page.
    • Please note: Due to the large volume of data being exported, the file will be emailed to you once it is ready
  • Apply all existing filters and conversions (e.g., unit conversion, delivery costs, fiber breakout) directly within the tab
  • Export regional unit costs trend

NB: There is no need to change the Balance Date if you are using the Trend option in Market or Mill levels - it will be automatically applied for each historical quarter.

Regional Unit cost trends can also be viewed and exported:
